My husband, Tim, and I are going on an adventure. It took us months to brainstorm and ask around before we reached a conclusion of what this adventure would entail, but we knew it was happening. We had already put it into motion, but the details would have to unravel as we made new discoveries and choices along the way. It is not easy to decided what adventure you will take because the world is full of them. We could go anywhere and do anything that we haven’t done before. That is a huge thought and makes for an even bigger task when you think you have to choose something… just one thing to do. Instead of getting overwhelmed, we let the thought take on its own direction. We let it develop with each person we talked to and saw it grow until the choice was obvious.
We are going sailing. That is what has to happen. We have decided and we will follow it through.
It is important we don’t get too bogged down by the details of how to make this a reality, but that we focus on the fact that it will be. Our exact timeline and path are to be determined as we nail down how we will do what we have set out to do. For now, we expect to start on the Pacific side of Mexico in the Sea of Cortez. This is where we will buy our boat and begin our adventure.
We knew when we got married we would be shaking up the comfortable world we had grown up in. We have both wanted to travel often and make discoveries, but did not quite know how to get started. We began by talking about the possibilities and listening to everyone else’s ideas and journeys. This led to several possible ideas, but only one that seemed attainable for now.
